Auld Lang Syne

We twa hae paidl’t in the burn,
From morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin auld lang syne.

That is my favourite verse from Burns’ poem, a masterpiece which is still being sung around the world as I type.  I have just been looking at comments on Facebook and I cannot recall ever having seen so many negative ones about the year gone by.  2013 certainly had its unforeseen challenges and I don’t think any of us will forget it for a long time.  It’s naïve to think that everything is going to improve because of an artificial division within a standardised concept of measurement but I do hope that we can at least all move on.  The year also brought us some wonderful moments (hello Lily!) and a lot for which I am very thankful.  So, onwards and upwards!

BTW wishes everyone a happy, healthy & prosperous new year.

Here’s a song from John Martyn,  a bloke with enough demons for us all, and the voice of an angel.

Thank to Paul for updating the blogware and for his persistence in working out what the issue was in the first place.  He rocks.

Hey, new font, everyone!
