..to be true?  If you haven’t heard the Tesco/Asda story, here it is as explained to me by my friend Gillian yesterday.

Asda will price match your shopping against the other big four supermarkets, simply enter your till receipt’s unique code on line and you will receive a voucher for the difference, should your shopping be cheaper elsewhere.

Tesco was matching against Asda only, but giving you twice the difference back.  Here in the Bay, Tesco and Asda are within walking distance of each other, so canny thrifty shoppers were going to Asda, checking out the special offers, trotting over to Tesco, buying them there, then claiming the refund.  So 6 bottles of wine on offer in Asda at £5, bought for £10 in Tesco, would yield £60.

Tesco has now capped this offer at £20.  Have they no sense of humour?
