Does anyone know the location of a starling murmuration?\u00a0 At dusk they swoop and dance in great clouds and I would love to see that.\u00a0 I suppose there must be websites which give the lowdown on this and there is a big starling group at the recycling centre in the Bay, which might be a candidate.<\/p>\n

Last night we attended a preview of the S. J. Peploe retrospective exhibition<\/a> at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art <\/a>Two (the one across the road with the fabby statue of Vulcan inside) and I really enjoyed it, I find his paintings vibrant and visceral.\u00a0 I’m not anywhere near qualified to comment on fine art but I know what ticks the boxes for me.\u00a0 We went to the Picasso exhibition recently and I found that very cerebral and distant, while the Edvard Munch works we saw were most interesting but deeply unhappy.<\/p>\n

On the way home a huge gibbous harvest moon hung over the Forth Bridge, it would have made a terrific photograph if we hadn’t been going at 40 mph, so I hope some other bods with better plans were out and about; they will have captured some corking shots.<\/p>\n

I have just checked gibbous<\/em> in the dictionary*,\u00a0 it does mean a moon between half full and full, but it also means hump backed.\u00a0 I didn’t know that.<\/p>\n
