That is my favourite verse from Burns’ poem, a masterpiece which is still being sung around the world as I type.\u00a0 I have just been looking at comments on Facebook and I cannot recall ever having seen so many negative ones about the year gone by.\u00a0 2013 certainly had its unforeseen challenges and I don’t think any of us will forget it for a long time.\u00a0 It’s na\u00efve to think that everything is going to improve because of an artificial division within a standardised concept of measurement but I do hope that we can at least all move on.\u00a0 The year also brought us some wonderful moments (hello Lily!) and a lot for which I am very thankful.\u00a0 So, onwards and upwards!<\/p>\n
