We have had the most extraordinary weather here over the past few days. Usually when we have a thunderstorm it’s over in ten minutes. Yesterday the storm lasted well over two hours, with one flash of lighting and clap of thunder so loud we thought a bomb had gone off. We all squealed like stuck pigs. Today Paul and I decided to ignore the dire prognostications of met check.com and sallied forth to east Fife. We had a lovely walk along Elie beach, then drove home past roiling black cloud, through torrential rain and spotted a water spout\/tornado trying to happen.
\nLast night we were on the Maid of the Forth for the DB folk club cruise. We saw puffins, gannets, skuas, seals, gulls and a folk duo which played wonderfully well given the swell below. At one point a pontoon rolled past with four seals lolling on it; one waved its flipper and as ever 60 denizens of a dormitory town solemnly waved back.
