E=MC something

Last night we went to see Uncaged Monkeys at the EICC, and I can now advise that there is a very good reason why Brian Cox is a Professor – he really understands all that quantum physics stuff and is well dead brainy likesy.   The evening was augmented by Robin Ince, Simon Singh and Ben Goldacre.  We were a little bit nonplussed when Robin asked that any questions be submitted via Twitter – I have a redundant Twitter account and Paul has none,  nor did we have any method of setting up and accessing one right there on the spot.  ( I do feel that Twitter is a London thing).  Small wonder then that the first and most oft repeated question they received was “Why are you all swearing so much when there’s wee kids in the audience?”  Small children probably the only ones able to tweet.

Oh , and Ian Rankin was in the queue in front of us, with his wife Miranda.

Today I have been to Stirling to see Dad.  Paul was working, so I happily trotted off to the train station at 11 a.m.   Got back home at 7 p.m., having spent just two hours chatting.   I’m a firm exponent of public transport, to which anyone who knows me will attest, but on a Sunday it’s oh so slow.   I used to catch a bus from Dunfermline to Stirling, which cut down the travel time nicely, but that’s been axed.

Now it’s countdown to the After 8 Mince gig on Friday at DBFC.   I may lose some weight this week.
