First up a film – Paul’s mum found this and I warn you, if you have not been to Scotland for some time look away now, because it will make you cry. In a good way, and remember our cities are still full of litter and badly designed traffic systems, just like yours.
Scotrail ground to a halt last night, at least for Fife, seems the bridge threw a hissy fit and when the guard tells you that there are signalling problems between Dalmeny and North Queensferry then it’s a pretty safe bet that a hulking 1.6 miles of cantilever construction is involved. I managed to board the Aberdeen train which was stuffed to the gunnels with us happy Friday night commuters. Big thanks therefore to the bloke behind me who jawed non stop for the entire hour it took to travel from Waverley to IKThing. It wouldn’t have been so bad if he had been interesting but it was all along the lines of there’s no point in doing anything with your life because everything’s rubbish. However, that’s nothing compared to what is happening down south just now, my heart goes out to the people who have lost so much in these dreadful storms.
