Drones

Last weekend while Paul was embarking on Project Gate Paint, I went to the end of our road (seriously) to capture some images of the wild flowers planted there by the Fife Parks & Rec people.   They were busy buzzing with bumble* bees and are such a lovely sight to behold.  We drove to Cellardyke on Sunday, to see Diana, past fields crowded with poppies.  It would have been lethal to stop and I couldn’t take any decent shots from a moving car,  so you are just going to have to imagine the corn field to the west of the town with its huge swathes of bright red in between the crops.

Later in the afternoon we went to hear Martin Taylor at the East Neuk Festival, he’s a jolly fine jazz guitarist and I spent half the time wondering where the other guitarist was, but it was only him.

I have been reading Graham Nash’s autobiography,  he of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and the Hollies.  Wild Times indeed. This has set me thinking about excess in so many ways, and the catastrophic effect it can have.   Recent events in the news have horrified and saddened me. I never want to draw attention to banthewasp in a political way because that’s not the point of this site,  so I will say no more, except to acknowledge that for some people, self regulation of their own behaviour is not even a recognisable concept.

*I have no idea if they were bumble or other bees, but they buzzed mightily.
