…yes, just like everyone else. That’s scunnered with the snow, in case anyone should be in any doubt. Now we have the sunset, hidden behind dense drifts of rolling, freezing fog. Snow fell steadily from at least 6:30 a.m. until after noon today, all the carefully cleared driveways have been filled in again. So, hooray, back to wrapping presents, what joy.
Some good things: actually talking to our neighbours; helping out; being helped out; the quality of the light and how quickly it changes; the fantastic monochrome vistas glimpsed from the train, such as Inverkeithing Cemetery this afternoon and other views one comes across momentarily, for example looking back up Calton Hill from the sludge- and slush-fest that is the pedestrian crossing outside the North BritishNew Balmoral Hotel; knowing that most of my presents are wrapped and the cards all written; and feeding the birds.
If only I didn’t have to go out in the pigging stuff.
