the ravel’d sleeve of care

Is anyone else finding it really difficult to sleep just now?  And when I do, I have lollapalooza dreams.   But how lovely to wake to a sunny day for once, with a gentle breeze.  Admittedly this was at 04:18 but it is still fine now at 10:00 exactly.

A moment’s silence for the dead blue tit we found on the front lawn.  Paul gently ushered it off to the great compost heap in the sky.

I made it back to band practice to find new songs waiting, always interesting.  I even had to sing some we genuinely had not looked at for months.

People, War Horse the play is coming to Edinburgh Festival Theatre in 2014.  It’s one of the best theatrical experiences I have ever had, even if I did blub copiously the whole way through. SPOILERS  The puppetry is masterful, I forgot after about two minutes that it was not a real horse, the choreography of the entire show was extremely tight and even though I had read the book I still was swept away by the whole production and the narrative drive.  The only down side is that a very well rendered and professionally excellent show does remind you of how much dross there is out there.  #wishihadyourproblems
